Hub Pen Co. Raises More Than $10,000 for China Earthquake Relief

BRAINTREE, Mass — Hub Pen Co. has responded to the tragic situation in the

Sichuan Province of China by raising $10,700 for the earthquake relief effort.

Hub Pen Employees were moved by the news of the massive earthquake and the devastating loss of lives. Hub and its employees banded together to raise the funds to help the victims of the national disaster in China.

Hub Pen has strong business and emotional ties to China. Many of Hub Pen’s workers are Chinese and Chinese is heard as often as English on the production floor. There is a strong national pride among the overseas Chinese, especially in this year of Beijing’s 2008 Olympic Games. Many of Hub’s workers have family, friends or acquaintances whose lives were terribly affected by this natural disaster.

Hub Pen depends upon China for much of its raw product and they have business partners throughout China.

Along with the donation, Hub Pen has forwarded a photo of the entire company to the China Embassy in Washington D.C. Hub employees are shown in the photo holding a sign which reads in both Chinese and English: “It is with great sadness and deep sympathy that Hub Pen Co. has watched the Sichuan earthquake tragedy these past weeks. All of Hub Pen Co. sends you this message of support with the knowledge that the strength and tenacity of the Chinese people will prevail over this devastating natural disaster.”

Accompanied with the donation and the photo were a number of individual messages of hope and best wishes from our employees to the people of China.
