R.S. Owens’ Recognized for Employee Safety

CHICAGO — R.S. Owens was recognized for excellence in safety by its insurance carrier, Sentry Insurance. This is the third time that Owens has received this recognition, which is awarded each year to the top 5 percent of Sentry's customers with excellent safety records and no or low incidence of on-site accidents.

"We are proud to receive this acknowledgment," says Mark Psaros, Owens' vice president of operations. "We take employee safety very seriously, and have an internal safety committee that meets monthly, managed by one of our department heads, to review the company's safety procedures and continuously improve our efforts to ensure 100 percent employee safety."

Troy Tepp, director of professional services at Sentry, visited Owens to present the excellence in safety award to President Scott Siegel at an employee-wide celebration.

"This award is given to a very select group of customers reporting a minimum of workers compensation injuries, and we recognize that excellent results such as these come from the combined efforts of management and the entire work force,” Tepp said.
